Hot Open-Face Turkey Sandwich

Ingredients

1 package Maple Leaf ® Natural Selections® Oven Roasted Turkey Breast Deli Meat 800g

1 cup (250 mL) unsalted butter

1 cup (250 mL) flour

1 tsp (5 mL) thyme,dried

1 ½ tsp (7 mL) black pepper

1 ½ (7 mL) salt

2 cups (500 mL) water

3 cups (750 mL) chicken broth

4 slices of grain bread

Directions

In a large skillet melt butter over medium high heat. Add seasonings.

Slowly add in flour whisking constantly until smooth and combined.

Gradually whisk in water and chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low.

Add turkey and allow to warm through. Divide and place turkey onto each slice of bread and spoon gravy over top.

Serve with mashed potatoes.

Tips: Serve with a side garden salad. Try doubling up the recipe to make a big batch. This dish reheats and freezes well.
